The efficient operation of the Center depends on the cooperation of the public. Staff will be there to assist only at your appointment time, and no drop-ins will be accepted. This procedure allows staff the time to carefully process the specific type of hazardous waste brought to the site.

It's important that all users follow these instructions for using the Center:

Step 1. Create an inventory list of your disposable items: general types and quantity of waste. You'll be asked about your items when you make your appointment.

Step 2. Call (319) 440-1080 to set up an appointment.

Step 3. Keep items in their original containers. Never mix materials together.

Step 4. Label unmarked containers with known contents.

Step 5. Transport materials to the Center in sturdy, leak-proof containers, and in your trunk or truck bed.

Step 6. Please arrive at your appointment on time.

No charge to households in Buchanan County. Businesses and farms are charged at a flat rate.
